What the transfer covers
Montpellier is the prefecture of the Hérault, in Occitanie, set on the river Lez about 10 km back from the Mediterranean. It is the seventh-largest city in France and one of its oldest centers of learning: the University of Montpellier dates from 1220, and its medical school is the oldest still in operation. The historic core, known as the Écusson, has medieval roots, with many buildings reworked between the 16th and 18th centuries. At its southeast corner, the Place de la Comédie, with the Opéra Comédie and the Three Graces fountain, opens out about 200 m from Saint-Roch station.
On the map this is a simple drive. Out of Barcelona the estimate climbs onto the AP-7, and from the border it stays on a single French motorway, the A 9, which carries the names La Catalane and La Languedocienne and runs past Perpignan, Narbonne and Béziers on its way to Montpellier. A private transfer covers the whole distance, from your Barcelona pickup to your Montpellier drop-off, with your own chauffeur and one vehicle from start to finish.

Start of the journey
Pickup in Barcelona
We collect you at the address you send in Barcelona: a hotel, a flat, a family home or an office. Mention the hour you want to leave, or the hour you need to be in Montpellier for a meeting or an appointment, and the quote is planned from it.
If you are arriving at Barcelona Airport and going straight on to Montpellier, give the airport as the pickup and include your flight number.

End of the journey
Arrival in Montpellier
Drop-off is the address you give in Montpellier: a hotel near the Comédie, a student residence, a home or an office. Write the full street address, or the name of the hotel.
Continuing by rail or air? Montpellier-Saint-Roch is the city's main station, with TGV services to Paris, Lyon and Marseille, and Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport (MPL) is in Mauguio, about 7 km east-southeast of the city. Either can be the drop-off.

Why book a private chauffeur

Timed to a fixed appointment
If you need to be in Montpellier by a set hour, for a meeting, an exam or a hospital visit, give that time in your request and the departure from Barcelona is planned back from it.
A semester's worth of bags
Moving for a semester or a long stay can mean more than a suitcase. List every bag and box with the number of guests so the quote is prepared for the whole load.
A break in Béziers or Narbonne
The A 9 passes close to both towns on the way. If you want lunch or a short visit in one of them, add it to the request with the time you want there.
One motorway, one vehicle
From the border to Montpellier the estimate stays on the A 9, and the vehicle that collects you in Barcelona is the one that drops you off, with no connection on the way.
Return from Montpellier to Barcelona
There is no separate page for the Montpellier to Barcelona transfer. Ask for the return in the same request, with its date and time, and we quote both directions.

Questions about the Barcelona to Montpellier transfer
How long is the drive along the A 9 to Montpellier?
Once past the AP-7, the estimate stays on the A 9 all the way, La Catalane and then La Languedocienne. Montpellier is about 341 km from Plaça de Catalunya, about 3 h 45 min by road (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). Traffic, a stop and the exact addresses change the real time.
Is Montpellier on the coast?
Not quite: the city lies on the river Lez about 10 km inland from the Mediterranean (Wikipedia), and the Montpellier tourism office presents it as a few kilometers from the sea. If you are staying at a beach town nearby, give that address as the drop-off.
Can the transfer end at Montpellier-Saint-Roch station or the airport?
Name the station or Montpellier-Méditerranée Airport (MPL) as the drop-off in your request, with the time of your train or flight, so the start in Barcelona is planned around it. Saint-Roch is about 200 m south of the Place de la Comédie; the airport is in Mauguio, east-southeast of the city.
Could we break the journey in Narbonne or Béziers?
Both are close to the A 9: the routed line passes about 1.8 km from Narbonne and about 4.6 km from Béziers, measured to the town centers. Add the stop to your request with how long you want there, and it goes into the quote.
