How the private tours work

Twelve private tours start from Barcelona, and each one runs for a single group: a private vehicle, a guide and a set itinerary, with pickup and drop-off at your hotel in Barcelona. The price on each tour covers the whole group of up to six guests rather than each person, and every tour is booked online.

Eight of the tours are Catalonia day trips of five to eleven hours. They reach the Benedictine monastery of Montserrat, built in 1025; medieval Girona, whose cathedral has a Gothic vault 23 meters wide; the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres; Tossa de Mar and its walled Vila Vella; Empúries, the only site in the Iberian Peninsula where the remains of a Greek city and a Roman city coexist; Roman Tarragona, declared a World Heritage Site in 2000; Sitges; and a family-run winery in the Penedès. Two of them add a panoramic boat ride on the Costa Brava.

The four Barcelona city tours last five to ten hours and cover the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Montjuïc and the Gothic Quarter between them, and one of them adds Montserrat. Every tour page lists its stops and what is and is not included.

Planning your private tour

A private tour or a chauffeur day trip

A private tour is a set itinerary with a guide, one price for the whole group and online booking. A chauffeur day trip is a vehicle and driver for the day on the route you choose, for example Montserrat in the morning and a winery in the afternoon. It is quoted on request: send the places, the date and the number of guests, and we reply with a quote.

Half a day or a full day

Three tours last five hours: Essential Montserrat: Landscape, History and Spirituality; The Essence of Barcelona: Discover its Icons on an Exclusive Tour; and Barcelona Highlights and Park Güell. The other nine run from eight to eleven hours, and the longest, the Montserrat, Girona and Costa Brava Private Tour, takes about eleven hours door to door.

Which tour for which sight

  • Sagrada Família: Barcelona in One Day: Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and Old Town and Experience Montserrat and Barcelona with Sagrada Familia access both list a ticket, subject to availability. The cornerstone was laid in 1882, and the tower of Jesus Christ, the tallest of the temple, was completed on the outside on February 20, 2026.
  • Park Güell: Barcelona in One Day and Barcelona Highlights and Park Güell both include a skip-the-line ticket. The park opened as a municipal park in 1926 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984 as part of the Works of Antoni Gaudí.
  • Montjuïc: all four city tours stop on the hill, and The Essence of Barcelona also stops at the Barcelona Pavilion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich for the 1929 International Exposition and rebuilt between 1983 and 1986.
  • Montserrat: four tours include the monastery; they are compared on Montserrat private tours from Barcelona.
  • Girona and Figueres: three tours walk Girona's old town, and Medieval Girona and Dali Museum in Figueres includes a ticket to the Dalí Theatre-Museum, which opened in 1974 in the former Municipal Theatre of Figueres.
  • Tarragona and Sitges: Roman Tarragona and Mediterranean Sitges includes entrance to Tarragona's Roman amphitheater and Roman circus.
  • The Penedès: the Montserrat and boutique wineries tour includes a guided visit to a family-run winery and a tasting of three wines and cavas, in a wine region with more than 2,700 years of history.

Questions about the private tours

Is the price per person or per group?

Per group. Each tour has one price for your whole party of up to six guests, so the cost per person falls as the group grows. The price is on each tour card above.

Where does a private tour start and end?

At your hotel in Barcelona: pickup and drop-off there are part of every tour. Some tours also mention apartments. If you are staying in an apartment or outside Barcelona, ask on WhatsApp before you book.

Are entrance tickets and meals included?

Tickets differ from tour to tour. Some tours include them, such as the Dalí Theatre-Museum, the Park Güell ticket or the Roman amphitheater and circus in Tarragona, and a Sagrada Família ticket, where listed, is subject to availability. Food is not included on any of the twelve tours, and neither are drinks, apart from the tasting of three wines and cavas on the Montserrat and boutique wineries tour. Each tour page lists what is and is not included.

We are more than six. Can we still book?

Each tour is priced for a group of up to six guests. For a larger group, ask on WhatsApp before you book, with the tour, the date and the number of guests.

Which private tours go to Montserrat?

Four: Essential Montserrat, a five-hour tour of the mountain, and three full-day tours that pair it with a Penedès winery, with the Sagrada Família and Barcelona, or with Girona and the Costa Brava. See Montserrat private tours from Barcelona for the comparison.

Can we plan our own route instead?

Yes. A chauffeur day trip is a vehicle and driver for the day on the route you choose, for example the Barcelona to Montserrat chauffeur or a Costa Brava day trip, quoted on request. Send the places, the date and the number of guests by WhatsApp or with the quote form.
