What the transfer covers

Toulouse is an inland city on the Garonne, about 150 km from the Mediterranean, and the prefecture of both the Haute-Garonne and the Occitanie region. Wikipedia ranks it fourth among French cities, after Paris, Marseille and Lyon, and calls it the center of the European aerospace industry, home to the headquarters of Airbus. Its pinkish terracotta brick buildings earned it the name La Ville rose. This transfer takes you from your address in Barcelona to your address in Toulouse without a change of vehicle, whether the trip is for work, for a flight out of Toulouse-Blagnac or for a stay in the city.

Two motorways do most of the work. Out of Barcelona, the routed line climbs the AP-7 past Girona and Figueres to the border at La Jonquera, then stays on the French A 9 as far as Narbonne. There it swings west onto the A 61, the Autoroute des Deux Mers, a 148 km motorway between Narbonne and Toulouse with exits for Carcassonne and Castelnaudary. So the first half of the drive runs near the coast and the second half crosses inland, with the walled Cité of Carcassonne close to the road.

Start of the journey

Pickup in Barcelona

Collection is at the Barcelona address in your request, whether that is a hotel, a home or an office. For a work trip, send the address with the time you are expected in Toulouse, and the departure time is worked out from it.

If you fly into Barcelona and want to drive straight on to Toulouse, give the terminal and the flight number as the pickup in your request.

Arrival in Toulouse

Drop-off is at the address you give in Toulouse: a hotel near the Capitole, a home or an office. For a business address near the airport, where Wikipedia says Airbus and ATR build aircraft at nearby facilities, give the site name and the entrance if you know it.

For a flight, the drop-off can be Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS), west-northwest of the city and partly in the commune of Blagnac. For a train, give Toulouse-Matabiau station as the address.

Why book a private chauffeur

  1. Carcassonne on the way

The A 61 has an exit for Carcassonne, whose walled Cité, with 3 km of double walls and 52 towers, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. To break the drive there, add the stop and the time you want to spend.

  2. Straight to the meeting

Expected at an office in the city or a site near the airport? Give the address and the time, and the drive is planned to arrive there.

  3. Coast, then inland, in one vehicle

The road follows the coast to Narbonne before it turns inland. You and your bags stay in the same vehicle from Barcelona to Toulouse.

  4. Ready for a flight home

Flying out of Toulouse-Blagnac? Send the flight time with the request, so the departure from Barcelona leaves room for check-in.

Questions about the Barcelona to Toulouse transfer

How long does the road to Toulouse take, and where does it turn inland?

At Narbonne. The estimate follows the AP-7 to the border, the A 9 along the coast to Narbonne and then the A 61, the Autoroute des Deux Mers, inland (Wikipedia). Toulouse itself stands on the Garonne, about 150 km from the Mediterranean (Wikipedia). By road, Toulouse is about 394 km and about 4 h 15 min from Plaça de Catalunya (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026).

Is Carcassonne a good stop on the way to Toulouse?

The A 61 has an exit for Carcassonne, and the routed line passes close to the town. Its medieval Cité, on a hill above the river Aude, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Put the stop in your request with how long you want to stay. If Carcassonne is where you are going, see Barcelona to Carcassonne.

Is the airport close to the Airbus sites?

Yes. Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS) is west-northwest of the city, partly in Blagnac, and Airbus and ATR test the aircraft they build at nearby sites from its runways (Wikipedia). For a business visit, give the site's address; for a flight, or a train from Toulouse-Matabiau, give its time so the departure from Barcelona is planned around it.

Why is Toulouse called the pink city?

Because of the pinkish terracotta bricks of its buildings, which give it the name La Ville rose (Wikipedia). The city's Basilica of Saint-Sernin, begun in 1080, is the largest preserved Romanesque church in France, according to Toulouse Métropole.
