Pickup at Barcelona Airport

How the pickup at Barcelona Airport is arranged is confirmed in the reply to your quote request.

Send the flight number and the scheduled landing time, and the terminal if you know it, so the quote matches your arrival.

Barcelona's airport is officially Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, code BCN, and its two terminals, T1 and T2, stand in El Prat de Llobregat (Aena). T2 is divided into T2 A, T2 B and T2 C. A free Aena shuttle bus connects the two terminals day and night; Aena puts the ride at about 10 minutes from T1 to T2 B and C and about 14 minutes in the opposite direction (Aena).

From the terminal to the Val d'Aran

Baqueira Beret is the ski area of the Val d'Aran, in the municipality of Naut Aran, and reaches over into the Valls d'Àneu on the Pallars side. The resort lists 169 marked kilometers in four areas, Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver, from 1,500 to 2,610 meters. Aran is the only contiguous part of Catalonia on the northern side of the Pyrenees: the Garonne rises on the Pla de Beret and flows through France to the Atlantic, and the valley speaks its own language, Aranese, a form of Occitan.

From Terminal 1, the route estimate heads north on the B-20 and the C-16, turns west on the N-260 toward Sort, climbs the C-13 through the Pallars Sobirà and enters Aran on the C-28 over the Port de la Bonaigua, a pass above 2,000 meters with the resort at its top. In winter that pass can stay closed for days at a time because of deep snow and avalanche danger. The other way in is from the south, on the N-230 through the Vielha tunnel, which is the road the resort's own directions from Barcelona use. It is a different route with a different driving time, so mention it in your request if you want the trip planned that way.

Drop-off in Baqueira Beret

The quote is for the address you send: a hotel or apartment in Baqueira, a village farther down the valley such as Salardú, Arties or Vielha, or a stay in the Valls d'Àneu on the other side of the pass.

The route estimate ends in Baqueira itself, so an address elsewhere in Aran changes the distance. Give it in full when you ask.

Back from Baqueira Beret to Barcelona Airport

There is no separate page for the drive back to the airport. Add the return to the same request, or ask for it on its own with your departure flight.

Questions about Barcelona Airport to Baqueira Beret transfers

How much of the day does the road to Baqueira Beret take?

Plan for about 4 h 10 min without traffic: Baqueira Beret is about 294 km by road from Terminal 1 at the airport (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). Terminal 2 is a few kilometers shorter by road. Snow, traffic and a stop on the way all lengthen the real journey.

Does the transfer go over the Bonaigua pass?

The route estimate does: it crosses the Port de la Bonaigua on the C-28, a pass that, according to Viquipèdia, stays closed on many winter days because of snow and avalanche danger. The other way into Aran is the N-230 through the Vielha tunnel, whose first bore opened in 1948 and ended the valley's long winter isolation (Wikipedia). Before a winter trip, check the Servei Català de Trànsit, which reports incidents caused by weather and the state of mountain passes.

Which part of the resort should I give as the drop-off?

Baqueira Beret has four areas: Baqueira, Beret, Bonaigua and Baciver (Baqueira Beret). The estimate on this page ends in Baqueira. Give the address of your hotel or apartment, wherever it is in the valley, and the quote is for that point.

Is the Val d'Aran on the French side of the Pyrenees?

On the northern side, but it belongs to Catalonia. Wikipedia describes the valley as the only contiguous part of Catalonia on the northern side of the Pyrenees, where the Garonne rises at the Pla de Beret and flows toward the Atlantic, and Aranese, a form of Occitan, is spoken there. The drive from the airport stays in Spain the whole way.
