What the transfer covers
L'Estartit is the coastal town of the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí, in the Baix Empordà, and became a decentralized municipal entity in 2014. A Generalitat de Catalunya tourism guide recalls that it was a fishermen's district until the 19th century, and the Catalan Wikipedia adds that its port shipped out the area's wheat, rice, wine and brandy. About a mile off the beach lie the Medes Islands, seven islets covering some 23 hectares, protected from 1983 and now inside the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, created in 2010. Divers come for the seabed, and glass-bottom boats run out to the islands.
North of the town, the Montgrí massif falls into the sea in cliffs about 100 meters high, cut by sea tunnels such as La Foradada, and an unfinished 13th-century castle crowns the hill above Torroella. The road estimate leaves the AP-7 for the C-66 and then the GI-642, which runs through Púbol, takes the GI-643 on to Torroella de Montgrí, and finishes on the GI-641 down to the sea. If your stay starts with a dive or a boat trip to the islands, the time of that booking is worth putting in the request.

Start of the journey
Pickup in Barcelona
Collection is at the Barcelona address you send us: a hotel, an apartment, a home or an office. Include the time you would like to leave.
If your trip starts at the terminal instead, ask for the Barcelona Airport to Costa Brava transfer and include your flight number.

End of the journey
Arrival in l'Estartit
The drop-off is your address in L'Estartit: a hotel or apartment by the beach, a house in the town, or the port if you are heading straight to a diving or boat booking.
Torroella de Montgrí, the inland town of the same municipality, is on the GI-641 just before L'Estartit and can be the drop-off address as well.
Activities around the Medes Islands, from diving to glass-bottom boat trips and kayaking, have to follow the rules that protect the reserve (Visit Estartit). Book them before you travel and send the time with your transfer request.

Why book a private chauffeur

Planned around the dive boat
If a dive or a boat trip to the Medes is booked for the day you arrive, give its time; the pickup is set early enough to reach the port first.
Dive bags in the request
List dive bags and any bulky equipment with the suitcases and the number of guests, so the quote covers what you are bringing.
A stop at Púbol
The estimate runs through Púbol, where Dalí's castle for Gala opened to the public as a museum in 1996. To look round it on the way, name Púbol as a stop and say when your visit is booked.
Return from l'Estartit to Barcelona
There is no separate page for the l'Estartit to Barcelona transfer. Ask for the return in the same request, with its date and time, and we quote both directions.

Questions about the Barcelona to l'Estartit transfer
What distance and driving time separate Barcelona from L'Estartit?
Starting at Plaça de Catalunya, the road estimate to l'Estartit is about 140 km, a drive of about 1 h 55 min with no traffic (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). The exact address and any stop add to it.
How far are the Medes Islands from L'Estartit?
About a mile off the beach, according to Visit Estartit, which describes seven islets with about 23 hectares of land. They belong to the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park, created in 2010 (Wikipedia).
Is L'Estartit part of Torroella de Montgrí?
Yes. L'Estartit belongs to the municipality of Torroella de Montgrí and became a decentralized municipal entity in 2014 (Viquipèdia). Torroella is the town inland at the foot of the Montgrí, and the estimate passes through it on the way to the coast.
Can we stop at the Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol on the way?
The estimate runs through Púbol, in La Pera, on the GI-642 (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). The Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí runs the castle as a museum; between 1982 and 1984 it became Dalí's last studio and Gala's resting place. Add the stop and your visit time to the request.
We are coming to dive at the Medes Islands. Should the gear go in the request?
Yes, list it. Visit Estartit says the range of depths around the islands gives dives for all levels, with caves such as Vaca and Dofí Nord and the wreck of the Reggio Messina, sunk on purpose in 1991. Count the dive bags with the suitcases and the guests when you ask for the quote, and add any stop such as Púbol.
