Pickup at Barcelona Airport
How the pickup at Barcelona Airport is arranged is confirmed in the reply to your quote request.
Send the flight number and the scheduled landing time, and the terminal if you know it, so the quote matches your arrival.
The airport lies on the far side of Barcelona from the Costa Brava, so every estimate here passes the city first. The Lloret de Mar estimate, for one, takes the B-10 along Barcelona's seafront and then the C-32 up the Maresme coast, while the one for Girona turns inland onto the AP-7. All the Costa Brava figures on this page are measured from Terminal 1.

From the airport to the Costa Brava
The name means a brave or wild coast, and the Generalitat de Catalunya's guide to it describes 206 kilometers of shoreline where coves, cliffs, wetlands and dunes alternate with long sandy beaches. It starts at Blanes, where the jagged Sa Palomera rock between the port and the beach is the symbolic milestone, and finishes at Portbou on the French border. For an arrival at Barcelona Airport the town matters more than the region: measured from Terminal 1, OpenStreetMap routing checked on September 30, 2026 runs from 89 km to Blanes, about 1 h 15 min, up to 188 km to Portlligat, about 2 h 30 min, by road without traffic.
Those two ends frame the choice. In the south, the la Selva towns of Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar are the shorter drive; Tossa's walled Vila Vella keeps seven towers, and the guide records that Marc Chagall and André Masson passed through. The middle stretch, the Baix Empordà, is described in the guide as the Costa Brava's heartland, with rugged coves from Begur to the bay of Palamós and the old fortified towns of Pals and Peratallada inland. The far north is the Alt Empordà, where Cadaqués is the focal point of the Cap de Creus peninsula and Dalí built his home on Portlligat cove.

Drop-off in the Costa Brava
Name the town, then give the street and number or the property's name: a seafront hotel in Platja d'Aro and a house inland near Pals are different drives, and the quote is for the door you send. If the address is a rented villa, add any directions the owner gives for the last stretch.
The towns below have their own route pages with a road estimate from Barcelona. Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar and Girona also have airport routes, listed further down.

Questions about Barcelona Airport to Costa Brava transfers
Which Costa Brava towns are nearest to El Prat, and which are farthest?
Blanes, at the southern end, is the nearest and Portlligat, beside Cadaqués, the farthest. Measured from Terminal 1 (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026), the road estimates run from about 89 km (Blanes, about 1 h 15 min) to about 188 km (Portlligat, about 2 h 30 min). Towns in the Baix Empordà, such as Palamós or Begur, fall between the two. Summer traffic on the coast roads can add to the real time.
Which towns are in the south, the middle and the north of the Costa Brava?
The Generalitat guide divides the coast into three counties. La Selva in the south has Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar. The Baix Empordà in the middle runs from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to L'Estartit, with Palamós, Calella de Palafrugell and Begur. The Alt Empordà in the north takes in Roses, Cadaqués and Portbou on the French border.
When does flying into Girona make more sense than El Prat?
It depends on your flights and your town. Girona-Costa Brava Airport is about 10 km south of Girona (Wikipedia) and has its own transfers, grouped on the Girona Airport transfer page. Compare its estimate for your town with the range on this page before you book the flights.
Our villa is outside any town. How do we describe the address?
The villa's full address, or its name and the nearest town, plus the owner's directions for the last stretch if there are any. Add the flight number, the date and landing time, and the number of guests and bags, and send it by WhatsApp or with the quote form.
