What the transfer covers

Palamós is a fishing town on a wide bay in the Baix Empordà. King Peter the Great founded it in 1277, when he bought the castle of Sant Esteve, and gave it a settlement charter in 1279; the Catalan Wikipedia calls the port the town's reason for being. The main catch of its boats is the red prawn, sold under the Gamba de Palamós quality mark. The old quarter stands on a headland above two harbors, the marina and the fishing port, with the lighthouse at Punta del Molí. When the boats return, their catch is auctioned at the fish market, La Llotja, and the Fishing Museum, in the Tinglado building on the quay, tells the story of the people who work this sea.

The road estimate runs up the AP-7, crosses on the C-35 and C-65, picks up the C-31 coast road at Santa Cristina d'Aro and enters Palamós on the C-256, through Sant Joan de Palamós. Beyond the town lie the coves of La Fosca, with its residential area, S'Alguer and Cala Castell, so the address you send decides where the drive ends.

End of the journey

Arrival in Palamós

Drop-off is wherever you are staying in Palamós: the old quarter on the headland, a hotel or flat in the town, or a house by La Fosca or S'Alguer. For a visit to the Fishing Museum or the Espai del Peix, give the port as the address.

The Espai del Peix, part of the Fishing Museum on the port, has a cookery classroom and explains the port, the fishing trade and how fish is sold (Generalitat de Catalunya). The Generalitat's Costa Brava guide lists regattas and the boat procession for La Mare de Déu del Carme, patron saint of fishermen, among the traditions of the town.

Why book a private chauffeur

  1. Out to the coves

Houses at La Fosca or S'Alguer are outside the town center. The transfer ends at the door you send, not at the port.

  2. In time for dinner

Booked a table at the port or a museum visit for the day you arrive? Tell us the time and the quote works back from it to your pickup in Barcelona.

  3. One vehicle, both ends

The trip starts at your address in Barcelona and ends at the one you give in Palamós, with no change of vehicle in between.

Return from Palamós to Barcelona

There is no separate page for the Palamós to Barcelona transfer. Ask for the return in the same request, with its date and time, and we quote both directions.

Questions about the Barcelona to Palamós transfer

How long does it take to reach Palamós, and which road brings you into town?

From Plaça de Catalunya, Palamós is about 115 km by road, about 1 h 30 min without traffic (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). Past the AP-7, C-35 and C-65 section, the estimate heads north on the C-31 coast road and comes into town on the C-256 by way of Sant Joan de Palamós. A house at one of the coves adds a little to it.

What is the Palamós prawn?

The red prawn, Aristeus antennatus, is the main catch of the Palamós fleet. It is sold under the Marca de Garantia Gamba de Palamós, a collective quality mark that traces its origin (Viquipèdia).

Can the transfer drop us at La Fosca or Cala Castell?

Put the house name, hotel or street in your message; that address is the end point the quote is worked out for. The Generalitat de Catalunya's Costa Brava guide lists La Fosca, with its residential area, S'Alguer and Cala de Castell among the coves of Palamós.

Is there somewhere to learn about the Palamós fishing fleet?

The Museu de la Pesca, set in the fishing port itself, tells the story of people and the sea through its exhibition, a documentation center and fishing boats. It also runs the Espai del Peix, with a cooking classroom where you can discover fish species and traditional cuisine (Visit Museum).
