What the transfer covers
S'Agaró is a garden town on the Costa Brava, part of the municipality of Castell d'Aro, Platja d'Aro i s'Agaró, between Sant Feliu de Guíxols and Platja d'Aro. It grew in the early 20th century in the style of Catalan noucentisme: the Ensesa family had the Girona architect Rafael Masó lay it out as a garden city, and its first villa, Senya Blanca, went up in 1924. The Generalitat de Catalunya's guide to the coast points to its Greek-style temples, viewpoints and balustrades, and in 1995 the ensemble was declared a cultural asset of national interest. Its coastal path, an early 20th-century promenade in the same style, follows the shore from Platja del Racó to Sa Conca beach.
