What the transfer covers

The people of Torredembarra call it La Torre. It is a town of 18,237 residents in the Tarragonès, with Creixell on one side and Altafulla on the other, and it has two faces. Up the slope is Dalt la Torre, the historic center, with a stretch of town wall, the parish church of Sant Pere, the Torre de la Vila, probably from the 12th or 13th century, and the Palau dels Icart, known as the castle, which now houses the town hall. Down by the water are Baix a Mar, the seafront quarter, and the marina. The lighthouse on the shore is modern: designed by Josep Maria Llinàs and first lit at midnight on January 1, 2000, it has a 38 m tower with its light 58 m above the sea. Beyond it, the protected beach of Els Muntanyans keeps dunes and salt marsh of a kind that has vanished from nearly all of the Catalan coast.

On the way down, the routed line leaves the city by the C-31, keeps to the C-32 until it ends near El Vendrell, then uses the AP-7 before turning off onto the T-214: 81 km, about 1 h 5 min by road without traffic. Most trips are for a beach stay; some are for the dunes or a lighthouse visit.

Start of the journey

Pickup in Barcelona

Collection is at the address you give in Barcelona: a hotel, a flat, a home or an office. If the trip begins at the ship or the train, the cruise port transfer and the Barcelona-Sants station transfer pages cover pickups there.

Torredembarra is on the Tarragona side of the Costa Daurada, so a flight into Reus may suit you; the Reus Airport transfer page lists the journeys from that terminal.

End of the journey

Arrival in Torredembarra

Drop-off is at the street address you send. The town has four beaches, La Paella, Baix a Mar, Els Muntanyans and El Canyadell, and its old center sits apart from the seafront, so the street and number tell the driver more than the name of the beach. If you are staying in Dalt la Torre, the historic center, add the nearest square or the name of the building.

Why book a private chauffeur

  1. Old quarter or seafront

Dalt la Torre and Baix a Mar are different parts of town. The drive ends at the address you give, in either of them or in a flat near the dunes.

  2. In time for the lighthouse visit

If you have booked a guided visit to the lighthouse for the day you arrive, give its time and ask for a pickup in Barcelona that gets you there for it.

  3. A summer's luggage

List the suitcases, beach bags and anything bulky with the number of guests, and it all goes in the car with you from your door.

  4. Altafulla and Tarragona next door

Torredembarra borders Altafulla, and Tarragona lies just beyond. A stop in either on the way can be part of the same request.

Return from Torredembarra to Barcelona

Questions about the Barcelona to Torredembarra transfer

How many kilometers is Torredembarra from central Barcelona?

Measured from Plaça de Catalunya, Torredembarra lies about 81 km away on the C-31, the C-32 and the AP-7: about 1 h 5 min of driving (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). Summer weekends on the coast roads and the address you give can lengthen it.

Is the lighthouse open to visitors?

Yes, on a guided visit run by the tourism office, which takes bookings online. Designed by the architect Josep Maria Llinàs and first lit on January 1, 2000, the tower is 38 m tall (Turisme Torredembarra). If you book a visit for your arrival day, put its time in your request so the pickup in Barcelona is planned around it.

Where are the dunes, and are they protected?

Els Muntanyans is part of the protected beach of Torredembarra and Creixell, whose Torredembarra section was listed in 1992 under Catalonia's plan of areas of natural interest (Viquipèdia). The tourism office gives the shore as about 7 km long, shared with Creixell and Roda de Berà (Turisme Torredembarra).

What is there to see in the old town, Dalt la Torre?

Dalt la Torre is the historic core, above the seafront quarter of Baix a Mar (Viquipèdia). The tourism office's walk of about 2,000 m passes the town wall, the castle, the parish church of Sant Pere and the Torre de la Vila, an old tower thought to date from the 12th or 13th century (Turisme Torredembarra).
