What the transfer covers

The Costa Daurada, Catalan for the Golden Coast, is named after the colour its sand takes on in the sun. It is the stretch of Catalan shore between Cunit and Alcanar, and the name is often stretched to cover the whole province of Tarragona. This page deals with nine places on its northern part: Calafell and Coma-ruga in the Baix Penedès; Torredembarra, Altafulla, Tarragona, La Pineda, Salou and PortAventura World in the Tarragonès; and Cambrils in the Baix Camp. Some people go for a week on the beach, some for the theme parks, some for the Roman city of Tarraco.

Every road estimate here starts at Plaça de Catalunya and leaves the city southwards on the C-31 and the C-32. The C-32 runs parallel to the coast through the Garraf and ends at the AP-7 near El Vendrell. The estimates for Calafell and Coma-ruga stay on the C-32; from Torredembarra onwards they continue along the AP-7. Calafell is the nearest place estimated and Cambrils the farthest, so the town you name, and the street in it, decide how long the drive is.

Start of the journey

Pickup in Barcelona

Collection is at the address you send in Barcelona: a hotel, an apartment, a home or an office. Travelers who arrive by ship or by train can give the cruise terminal or Barcelona-Sants as the starting point; see the cruise port transfer and the Sants station transfer.

Coming straight off a plane at Barcelona Airport? Three airport routes to this coast have pages of their own: Salou, Tarragona and PortAventura World. If your flight lands at Reus, much closer to the coast, start from the Reus Airport transfer page.

End of the journey

Arrival in the Costa Daurada

The journey ends at the address you give on the coast, for example a hotel, a rented apartment or a family house. Each of the nine places has a route page with its own estimate: Calafell, Coma-ruga in the municipality of El Vendrell, Torredembarra, Altafulla, Tarragona, La Pineda in the municipality of Vila-seca, Salou, PortAventura World and Cambrils.

Staying inland? Reus, in the Baix Camp, has its own Barcelona to Reus transfer page.

Why book a private chauffeur

  1. The town decides the drive

The estimates on this page run from Calafell to Cambrils, a long run of coast. Send the town and the full address, and the quote is worked out for that address rather than for the coast in general.

  2. Holiday luggage on the list

A week by the sea often means more than suitcases. Count beach bags, a stroller or golf bags along with the guests, and put them all in the request.

  3. Two addresses in one request

If your party is split between two towns, for example a hotel in Salou and an apartment in Cambrils, name both addresses when you ask for a quote.

  4. No change of transport

There is no bus or train connection to make on the way: the car goes from your door in Barcelona to the door where you are staying on the coast.

Return from the Costa Daurada to Barcelona

There is no separate page for the Costa Daurada to Barcelona transfer. Ask for the return in the same request, with its date and time, and we quote both directions.

Questions about the Barcelona to Costa Daurada transfer

Where does the Costa Daurada begin, and how far is it from Barcelona?

It runs between Cunit and Alcanar and takes its name from the color of its sand in the sun (Wikipedia). From Plaça de Catalunya, the road estimates to its towns in our route data run from about 63 km (Calafell, about 55 min) to about 112 km (Cambrils, about 1 h 30 min) (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026). The day you travel and the exact addresses change the real time.

Are Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú on the Costa Daurada?

No. Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú belong to the Garraf county, on the coast between Barcelona and the Costa Daurada, which begins further south at Cunit. The C-32 passes both towns on the way. They have pages of their own: Barcelona to Sitges and Barcelona to Vilanova i la Geltrú.

Which Roman sites are along the Costa Daurada?

Tarragona's Roman remains, the ancient Tarraco, were inscribed by UNESCO in 2000, which calls it the first and oldest Roman settlement on the Iberian Peninsula. The listing also takes in sites outside the city, among them the Berà Arch at Roda de Barà, the Centcelles villa and mausoleum, and the Els Munts villa (UNESCO). Any of them can be a stop on the way to your town.

We are not sure yet which town we will stay in. Can we still ask?

Yes. Send the dates, the number of guests and bags, and the towns you are choosing between. The road estimates differ from town to town, so the quote is confirmed once you have the final address.

Can the transfer start at Barcelona Airport instead of the city?

Airport journeys are on separate pages, because they start at a terminal and use a different road estimate: Barcelona Airport to Salou, to Tarragona and to PortAventura World. Send your flight number with the request.
