What the transfer covers
Salou is a seaside town in the Tarragonès county, on the Costa Daurada. It became a municipality in its own right on 30 October 1989, when a ruling of Spain's Supreme Court separated it from Vila-seca, but its harbor has a far older story: in 1229 the fleet of James I of Aragon set sail from Salou to conquer the Balearic Islands, and the seafront promenade, Passeig Jaume I, carries the king's Catalan name. The town's tourism office counts 25 beaches and coves, nine of them with services, and PortAventura World is right next door.
By road, the estimate on this page leaves Barcelona on the C-31, follows the C-32 through the Garraf and joins the AP-7 near El Vendrell, then turns off onto the C-31B for the last stretch into town. It comes to 106 km, about 1 h 25 min by road without traffic. When the trip is the start of a beach holiday, the car carries the holiday luggage as well as the guests, so count the bags before you ask.

Start of the journey
Pickup in Barcelona
Your transfer starts at the address you send in Barcelona, for example your hotel on the last night of a city break, a rented flat or your home. Include the time you would like to set off, or the time you want to reach Salou.
If you are flying straight to the beach, there are separate pages for Barcelona Airport to Salou and for Reus Airport to Salou, the closer of the two airports.

End of the journey
Arrival in Salou
The drive ends at the address you give in Salou. Hotels and apartments sit along the town beaches, on Passeig Jaume I by Llevant beach and on Passeig Miramar by Ponent beach, and further out on the Cap Salou headland among the coves. Send the full address so the quote is for the right end of town.
If you are staying just outside Salou, La Pineda, Cambrils and the PortAventura World resort each have their own page.

Why book a private chauffeur

To your street, not the station
Salou's hotels and apartments are spread from Ponent beach to the coves of Cap Salou. A private transfer finishes at your own address rather than at a bus stop or the train station.
Planned around check-in
Tell us when your room or apartment will be ready and ask for a pickup time that brings you to Salou close to that hour.
Lunch in Tarragona on the way
Tarragona is on the way south. If you want to stop there for lunch or for the Roman sites, add the stop and how long you want to stay to your request.
Return from Salou to Barcelona
There is no separate page for the Salou to Barcelona transfer. Ask for the return in the same request, with its date and time, and we quote both directions.

Questions about the Barcelona to Salou transfer
How long does it take to get to Salou on the C-32 and the AP-7?
The estimate leaves the city on the C-31, takes the C-32, officially the Autopista de Pau Casals and known as the Garraf tunnels, joins the AP-7 near El Vendrell and turns onto the C-31B into Salou (Wikipedia)). That way Salou is about 106 km from Plaça de Catalunya, about 1 h 25 min by road (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026).
Is Salou close to PortAventura World?
Yes, the resort is right beside the town; its postal address is in neighboring Vila-seca (PortAventura World). If you are booked into one of the resort's hotels, use the Barcelona to PortAventura page instead.
Was Salou always a town of its own?
No. It was part of Vila-seca until October 30, 1989, when a ruling of the Supreme Court of Spain separated the two. Its harbor has a longer history: in 1229 the fleet of James I of Aragon sailed from the port of Salou to conquer the Balearic Islands (Wikipedia).
Where is Salou's lighthouse?
On Cap Salou, at the end of the town's coastal path. It was inaugurated in April 1858 (Visit Salou). If your apartment is out on the cape rather than near the town beaches, give the full street address, since the drop-off follows it.
