What the transfer covers
Going from Andorra to Barcelona means driving out of the Pyrenees and crossing back into Spain, where customs apply traveler allowances to what you bought in Andorra. The road estimate for this page starts in Andorra la Vella and takes the CG-1 south through Sant Julià de Lòria to the border at La Farga de Moles. On the Spanish side it follows the N-145 to La Seu d'Urgell, the N-260 east and then the C-16 south down the Llobregat valley, and it ends at Plaça de Catalunya in the center of the city.
The trip back can end at a hotel or a home in Barcelona, at Barcelona Sants for a train, or at the cruise terminals before a sailing. Timing matters on winter weekends: the Generalitat de Catalunya reports that the southbound peak on the C-16 between Bagà and Berga comes on Sunday afternoons, when traffic there can triple journey times.

At the border, Spanish customs has a green channel, "nothing to declare", for travelers within the allowances and a red one, "something to declare", for anything above them. The Spanish Tax Agency adds that allowances are per person and that the value of one item cannot be split between several travelers. Visit Andorra publishes the current quantities and values, and says the Andorran, Spanish and French customs are open day and night, all year round, for allowance procedures.
