What the transfer covers
Cruise ships in Barcelona use the passenger terminals of the Port de Barcelona, and the port has been moving that traffic away from the city's urban areas. The World Trade Center's North terminal stopped taking cruise ships on 2 October 2023, and under the port's 2025 agreement with Barcelona City Council there will be no more than five cruise terminals, all of them on the Adossat quay. The estimate on this page ends at the Terminal A building there. From the station it runs down Carrer de Tarragona to Avinguda del Paral·lel, takes the Ronda del Port along the harbor and crosses the Porta d'Europa bridge onto the quay.
This is the transfer for rail and sea on the same day: a high-speed train from Madrid or from France into Sants, then the ship. The distance is short, but a voyage's worth of suitcases and a boarding time set by the cruise line make a direct ride with your luggage worth booking ahead. Send the train, the ship and the sailing date, and the quote is for that journey.
Start of the journey
Pickup at Barcelona Sants
Collection is at Barcelona Sants. Send the train number and its arrival time, with the number of guests and suitcases.
If you spend the night before the cruise in a hotel near the station, give the hotel's address for the pickup instead. The run from the station to the airport has its own page: Barcelona Sants to Airport transfer.
End of the journey
Arrival at Port de Barcelona
Drop-off is at the terminal where your ship is berthed. Your cruise documents name it; send it with the ship's name and the sailing date.
Private cars may enter the terminal area to set down passengers and luggage, though parking there is not allowed, the port says. The port's access map points cruise passengers to Gate 2, on the Adossat quay.

Why book a private chauffeur

Train to ship in one ride
From the station to the terminal with no change of transport, and no search for a second vehicle once you reach the port.
Planned on your boarding time
Give the train's arrival and the boarding time from your cruise documents, and the pickup is set to fit between the two.
Luggage for the whole voyage
List every suitcase with the number of guests; the bags stay in the vehicle from Sants to the terminal.
Return from Port de Barcelona to Barcelona Sants
After the cruise, the journey on from the port has its own pages, to the airport or to a hotel. For a ride back to Sants and a train, ask in the same request with the ship and the train.
For the way back, see Cruise Port to Airport Transfer or Cruise Port to Hotel Transfer. Both directions can go in one request.

Questions about the Barcelona Sants to Port de Barcelona transfer
How many kilometers separate Sants station from the Adossat terminals?
The estimate from Estació de Barcelona-Sants to Moll Adossat, where the Adossat terminals stand, is about 7 km and about 15 min (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026), by the Avinguda del Paral·lel, the Ronda del Port and the Porta d'Europa bridge. Traffic in the city and on the port roads can add to it.
We come in on the AVE from Madrid on sailing day. How do we plan the timing?
AVE high-speed trains from Madrid arrive at Barcelona Sants (Wikipedia). Start from the boarding time in your cruise documents and send it with the train's arrival time; the transfer is planned between the two. If the gap is short, say so in the request.
Can a private car park at the cruise terminal?
No. The port lets private vehicles in to drop off or pick up passengers and luggage, but parking is not allowed (Port de Barcelona).
Will every cruise ship end up at the Adossat quay?
That is the plan. Under the port's agreement with Barcelona City Council, cruise terminals are being consolidated on the Adossat dock, with a maximum of five. The North terminal at the World Trade Center closed on October 2, 2023, and the Barcelona South terminal is due to close at the end of 2026 (Port de Barcelona), so check the terminal named in your cruise documents.
