What the transfer covers

Grau Roig is a sector of the Grandvalira ski area in the parish of Encamp, west of Pas de la Casa and the French border. It is the one Grandvalira sector with no village of its own: Wikipedia describes it as the only sector without a populated settlement, with Pas de la Casa as the nearest town. Grandvalira runs its Mountain Park here, with dog sled, snowshoe and snowmobile outings, Visit Andorra starts a ski touring route up Pic de Montmalús from the Grau Roig car park, and in summer a walking route climbs from the Cubil car park to the Pessons lakes.

The routed estimate for Grau Roig does not use the CG-1 through Andorra la Vella. After the C-16 it takes the C-162 to Puigcerdà, crosses into France and follows the N 20 and the N 320, then the N 22 to the border at Pas de la Casa. Visit Andorra gives these French roads, with the Col de Puymorens pass and tunnel, as the way into the country from France. From Pas de la Casa the estimate heads west on the CG-2 toward the Port d'Envalira, and the short CS-280 leads to Grau Roig. With two border crossings on the way, keep passports or ID cards for everyone in the car.

Start of the journey

Pickup in Barcelona

Your transfer starts at the address you give in Barcelona: a hotel, a holiday apartment or a home. Send the time you want to leave, or the time you want to be on the snow at Grau Roig, and the quote is built around it.

Landing at Barcelona Airport first? Use the Barcelona Airport to Andorra transfer and give your Grau Roig address in that request.

End of the journey

Arrival in Grau Roig

With no village at Grau Roig, give the exact name of your hotel, or the place in the sector where you want to be dropped, such as the Grau Roig or Cubil car park. The estimate in the route panel ends at Grau Roig itself.

If you are staying in Pas de la Casa or in another Grandvalira village, their pages carry their own estimates: Pas de la Casa, and the Grandvalira transfer, which covers every access to the ski area.

On this estimate the journey passes through France before it enters Andorra. Andorra is outside the European Union and the Schengen area and has transit agreements with Spain and France (Visit Andorra), so check what your nationality needs for entering Andorra before you set off.

Why book a private chauffeur

  1. Two borders, one vehicle

The estimate crosses from Spain into France near Puigcerdà and from France into Andorra at Pas de la Casa. You stay in the same vehicle across both, with your documents at hand.

  2. Dropped where there is no village

Grau Roig has no town center to arrive in, so the transfer ends at the hotel or car park you name in the sector.

  3. Touring and cross-country kit

Alpine skis, touring skis, skins and snowshoes take room. List them with the suitcases so the quote fits the load.

  4. Another road if you prefer

If you would rather go through La Seu d'Urgell and Andorra la Vella, for example to stop in the capital, ask for that road in your request.

Return from Grau Roig to Barcelona

What does the road estimate to Grau Roig come to?

It comes to about 190 km and about 2 h 45 min from Plaça de Catalunya to Grau Roig (estimate: OpenStreetMap road routing, no traffic, checked September 30, 2026), on a route that runs through France. Traffic and the road chosen on the day change the real time.

Why does the Grau Roig estimate leave Spain at Puigcerdà?

The estimate is the fastest road route found by OpenStreetMap routing, and for Grau Roig it leaves Spain near Puigcerdà and comes back into Andorra at Pas de la Casa. Visit Andorra lists the N-22, N-20 and N-320, with the Col de Puymorens pass and tunnel, as the road in from France. The other way in, through La Seu d'Urgell and Andorra la Vella, ends with the CG-2 up through Encamp and Canillo; no estimate is given here for that road.

Is Grau Roig a village?
