With 3,059 residents in 2025 and 5.46 square kilometers, per Idescat, La Palma de Cervelló is a compact place. The village grew up along the road to Corbera de Llobregat, on the left of the Riera de la Palma, also known as the Riera de Rafamans, a stream that rises at Puig d'Agulles and joins the Riera de Cervelló (AMB). Its story is bound up with its neighbor. The AMB records that La Palma was added to Cervelló in 1857, became a municipality between 1937 and 1939, and split off for good in 1998; Catalan Wikipedia dates the decree to 21 July of that year. The place name itself appears in a document of 964, and the parish church of Santa Maria is documented from 1231.
From the Romanesque period, the tourism board points to the hermitage of Sant Joan, an eleventh-century chapel with Lombard bands and arches. Spanish Wikipedia notes that the BV-2421 from Corbera runs through La Palma on its way to the N-340 and the B-24. When you ask for a car, write La Palma de Cervelló in full with the street, so the pickup is not taken for Cervelló.
Romanesque chapel and village church

Hermitage of Sant Joan del Pla
A small eleventh-century Romanesque chapel, restored in modern times, with Lombard bands and arches on the outside. Spanish Wikipedia places it on the left of the Rafamans stream and says it was built by the Benedictine nuns of Sant Pere de les Puelles.
