From Girona Airport to the Costa Brava

From an inland airport, every coastal transfer is a drive out to the sea, and its length depends on which stretch you are heading for. In our route data the range runs from 35 km (Lloret de Mar, about 35 min) to 91 km (Portlligat, about 1 h 25 min) by road without traffic.

The southern shore belongs to la Selva, the same county as the airport, with Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar. The Alt Empordà carries the coast to the French border, past Empuriabrava, a residential marina built in the 1960s around navigable canals, to Cap de Creus, a natural park where the last Pyrenean foothills slope down to the water.
