Girona Airport to Girona Transfer

The airport and the city share a river. The Onyar crosses the municipality of Vilobí d'Onyar, which added the river to its name in 1916, then flows north into Girona, runs through the city from south to north and joins the Ter there. The Generalitat de Catalunya's Costa Brava guide traces Girona from a Roman city on the northern route of the Via Augusta to the seat of a bishopric in the 5th century and the capital of a Carolingian earldom. The old quarter sits on the right bank of the Onyar, but the city's venues and its station lie outside it. La Devesa, a park of plane trees mostly planted in 1850 where the Güell, the Ter and the Onyar meet, west of the historic center, holds the Fira de Girona grounds, the Girona Auditorium and the Congress Centre. The railway station, about 1 km southwest of the historic center, serves both the conventional line to Cerbère and, on platforms below ground, the high-speed line between Barcelona and Perpignan.
