Castellbisbal belongs to the Vallès Occidental county, yet it lies on the left bank of the Llobregat, at the spot where the Riera de Rubí flows in. The name goes back to the bishops of Barcelona: the place became the Castell del Bisbe, the bishop's castle, as a fief of the Barcelona see. Pont del Diable
A bridge over the Llobregat between Martorell and Castellbisbal. Its Gothic structure was begun in 1283; after it was destroyed in the Civil War it was rebuilt in 1962, and it was declared a cultural asset of national interest in 1931.
