Horta-Guinardó district, Barcelona

Chauffeur Service in Baix Guinardó

Horta-Guinardó district

The lower Guinardó, between the Eixample and the Rovira tunnels

As its name says, this is the lower Guinardó, the part of the Horta-Guinardó district that comes down to the Eixample. Carrer de Sardenya divides it from El Camp d'en Grassot i Gràcia Nova, Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret from La Sagrada Família and Carrer de Cartagena from El Guinardó, while Avinguda de la Mare de Déu de Montserrat and Plaça de la Font Castellana mark the edge with Can Baró. In 2021, 25,842 people lived on its 0.56 square kilometers.

Much of it belonged to Sant Martí de Provençals, a town annexed to Barcelona in 1897, and most of its streets went up from the 1950s around Plaça d'Alfons X el Savi. Before that, the city's water company had taken land here for a reservoir, opened in 1871. After years of campaigning by residents it became the Parc de les Aigües in 1978, and the neo-Mudéjar Casa de les Altures beside it became the district council's seat in 1989. One entrance of the Rovira road tunnels, opened in 1987, is in the barri, and the Cinturó de Ronda overpass that crossed it was pulled down in 2011.

Journeys from here run to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Barcelona Sants, the cruise terminals or a town outside Barcelona, and to closer stops such as Sant Pau, across Carrer de Cartagena, or the basilica south of Sant Antoni Maria Claret. Pass on the street and building number, the date and hour, how many of you there are and how many suitcases, and a price comes back for that trip.

Barcelona Airport and el Baix Guinardó

Aena gives the airport's name as Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with two terminals, T1 and T2. No road estimate has been measured from El Baix Guinardó itself. The nearest measured route ends at the Sagrada Família basilica, just south of the barri: 20 km, about 25 min by road without traffic from Terminal 1 (OpenStreetMap road routing, checked 2026-09-30). Streets farther north add a little, and traffic changes the real time.

Transfers are quoted in both directions. For an arrival, send the flight number, the date and the landing time; for a departure, your street and number and the time of the flight. Add the terminal if you know it, and the number of guests and bags. All airport journeys are on Barcelona Airport Transfer.

Questions about a chauffeur in el Baix Guinardó

How close is El Baix Guinardó to the Sagrada Família?

The two barris share a boundary: Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret separates El Baix Guinardó from La Sagrada Família, the Eixample neighborhood around Gaudí's basilica. For the airport, the nearest measured route is Barcelona Airport to Sagrada Família Transfer, with 20 km, about 25 min by road without traffic from Terminal 1 to the basilica (OpenStreetMap routing, checked on September 30, 2026). An address farther north adds a little.

Can a driver take me to the Horta-Guinardó district offices?

The district council works from the Casa de les Altures, at Ronda del Guinardó, 49-51, beside the Parc de les Aigües. Give that address as the destination, or as one stop among several, with the time of your appointment. For a morning of errands, a chauffeur by the hour keeps a vehicle and driver for a set number of hours.

We are staying near Plaça d'Alfons X. Can a private tour collect us there?

The city tours describe a driver-guide collecting you from your Barcelona hotel or apartment, so give the address when you book. Barcelona in One Day includes a Sagrada Família ticket (subject to availability) and Park Güell. All of the private tours are booked online.

What do I send for a flight from El Baix Guinardó?

Your street and number, the date, the flight time and the terminal at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat (T1 or T2) if you know it, plus the number of guests and bags. For an arrival, swap the street for the flight number and the landing time. Both directions are described on Barcelona Airport Transfer.

Are fares or vehicles listed for El Baix Guinardó?

No. This site does not publish fares or describe vehicles. Send the pickup, the destination, the date and time, and the guests and bags through Request a quote, and the price is worked out for that trip. Mention bulky items such as a pram or sports bags in the same message.
