The Sagrada Família in golden evening light with visitors in front

Eixample district, Barcelona

Chauffeur Service in Sagrada Família

More than 50,000 people live in the Sagrada Família neighborhood, well beyond the basilica's block on Carrer de Mallorca, so give a street and number rather than the name alone. A driver collects you for the airport, Barcelona Sants, the cruise port or Montserrat.

Eixample district

A neighborhood named after its basilica

"Sagrada Família" names two things: Gaudí's basilica and the neighborhood of the Eixample district that grew up around it. This page is about the neighborhood, and about the trips that begin there. Its boundary runs along Carrer de Nàpols, Avinguda Diagonal, Carrer de Dos de Maig, Carrer de Sant Antoni Maria Claret, Carrer de Sardenya and Carrer del Rosselló, with La Dreta de l'Eixample and El Fort Pienc as its Eixample neighbors. In 2021, 52,164 people lived on its 105.1 hectares, in a mostly residential area with shops and offices that once had the Damm brewery and a General Motors plant.

The basilica takes up a full block between Mallorca, Marina, Provença and Sardenya, close to Plaça de la Sagrada Família and Plaça de Gaudí. Its first stone was laid on 19 March 1882, Gaudí took over the project in 1883, and UNESCO listed the Nativity facade and the crypt in 2005. From the basilica, the pedestrian Avinguda de Gaudí runs 0.7 km diagonally across the grid to the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, and Jujol's Casa Planells stands on Diagonal.

A driver from this neighborhood covers the airport, Barcelona Sants, the cruise terminals or a day in Montserrat or Girona. When you ask for a quote, give the street and number rather than just "Sagrada Família": the name covers a whole neighborhood of more than 50,000 people as well as the basilica.

Barcelona Airport and la Sagrada Família

Aena calls the airport Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat and lists two terminals, T1 and T2. The estimate with the route page below is measured to the basilica, along the C-31, so an address a few blocks away will differ slightly.

We quote the transfer either way: collection at the terminal when you land, or at your address in the neighborhood for a flight out. Send the flight number, the date and time, the terminal if you know it, and the number of guests and bags.

Questions about a chauffeur in la Sagrada Família

Is this page about the basilica or the neighborhood?

The neighborhood. La Sagrada Família is one of the six neighborhoods of the Eixample district, home to more than 50,000 people, and the basilica is one building in it. A chauffeur from here can start at a hotel, a flat or an office anywhere in the neighborhood, so the exact address matters more than the landmark name.

How far is the Sagrada Família from Barcelona Airport?

OpenStreetMap road routing to the basilica, checked on September 30, 2026, gives 20 km, about 25 min by road without traffic from Terminal 1, mostly on the C-31, and about 16 km, also about 25 minutes, from Terminal 2. Traffic and the exact address change the real time. The route is on Barcelona Airport to Sagrada Família Transfer.

Can the driver drop us right at the basilica?

Give the basilica's address, Carrer de Mallorca, 401, and say which side of the block you need. Where a car can stop around the block depends on the traffic rules on the day, so the drop-off point is agreed with the quote. Avinguda de Gaudí, which leads from the basilica toward Sant Pau, is pedestrian.

Which private tours include the Sagrada Família?

Two of them: Barcelona in One Day: Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and Old Town and Experience Montserrat and Barcelona with Sagrada Familia access. Both list a Sagrada Família ticket, subject to availability, and a guided exterior visit, with hotel pickup in a private vehicle. They are booked online.

Can I see the basilica and Sant Pau in one outing with a driver?

The two are joined by Avinguda de Gaudí, a pedestrian avenue of about 0.7 km that you can walk. A chauffeur by the hour can take you to the first and collect you after the second, then go on to other stops. List them with the times you have booked.
