Avinguda Meridiana, along one edge of El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, runs north to the C-33, C-58, C-17 and AP-7, so a drive out of the city that way begins close by. For the airport, your driver crosses Barcelona.

Sant Martí district

El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, along the Meridiana

El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot occupies the upper part of the Sant Martí district, enclosed by Avinguda Meridiana, Carrer d'Aragó and the streets of Dos de Maig, Sant Antoni Maria Claret and Navas de Tolosa. It is tightly built: 38,838 people lived on its 74.2 hectares in 2021. The place name probably comes from a dolmen, and a document of 1037 already refers to the spot as ad ipsa archa.

Streets were laid out here after 1845, without following Cerdà's grid, and through the 19th century textile mills, tanneries and chemical works replaced the farmland and brought in workers from outside. The Foment Martinenc, founded in 1877 as an ateneu where workers could study, still runs theater, chess and hiking sections, and neighbors call two of the small squares by nicknames: Plaça de l'Oca, after the bird on its fountain, and Plaça de la Tortuga.

For a car, the Meridiana is the edge that matters. It runs north to the junctions with the C-33, C-58 and C-17 and the AP-7 motorway, so a drive out of the city in that direction starts close to your door, while the airport sits across Barcelona to the southwest. Send the address, the hour and who is traveling with what luggage, and the quote covers that journey.
