Navas takes its name from the metro station of the same name, opened in 1953. One of the more recent barris of the Sant Andreu district, it was formed from parts of the old territories of El Clot and La Sagrera, on both sides of the Avinguda Meridiana, and about 22,300 people live in its 42 hectares (2021). Carrer de Las Navas de Tolosa marks its edge with El Camp de l'Arpa del Clot, and Carrer de Felip II forms its natural threshold with La Sagrera.
The focal point of the barri is Plaça de Ferran Reyes, on the Meridiana, presided over by the parish church of Sant Joan Bosco. At the corner of Carrer del Clot and Carrer d'Espronceda stands the Torre del Fang, a Gothic farmhouse from the late 13th or early 14th century, protected as a cultural asset of local interest. Navas is also known, unofficially, as Torrent de la Guineu, after a stream that rises in the Guinardó and crosses the barri, and on March 5, 2025 the Sant Andreu district plenary approved starting the procedure to change its name.
