Passeig de Gràcia runs through La Dreta past Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, above a station where Rodalies trains meet three metro lines. When the bags are too many for the train, a driver takes over for the airport, Sants or a day of meetings.

Eixample district

East of Balmes: Passeig de Gràcia and the upper grid

La Dreta de l'Eixample takes in the part of the Eixample district east of Carrer de Balmes. "Dreta" means right: the neighborhood lay to the right of the railway from Sarrià that once ran down Balmes before it went underground. It stretches from Balmes to roughly Passeig de Sant Joan and Carrer de Nàpols, shares Plaça de Catalunya with El Barri Gòtic, and borders La Sagrada Família, El Fort Pienc, L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample and the Gràcia and Ciutat Vella districts. In 2021 it had 44,088 residents on 212.3 hectares.

Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla de Catalunya both run through it. Gaudí's Casa Batlló stands at Passeig de Gràcia, 43, and Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera, at number 92, built between 1906 and 1912 and added to the UNESCO list in 1984. A block off the avenue, the Passatge de Permanyer keeps the small houses with front gardens laid out in 1864, and beneath the corner of Passeig de Gràcia and Aragó a station links Rodalies and regional trains with metro lines L2, L3 and L4.

In a neighborhood with the city's central square, a rail and metro interchange and two Gaudí houses, a driver covers several kinds of trip: a flight from El Prat, a train from Barcelona Sants, a day of appointments across the grid, or the drive to Sitges, Montserrat or Madrid. Give the building number and the nearest cross street with your request, and the journey is quoted for that pickup.

Barcelona Airport and la Dreta de l'Eixample

Aena names the airport Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat and lists two terminals, T1 and T2. The city airport route is measured to Plaça de Catalunya, which is part of this neighborhood, so its estimate fits the lower end of Passeig de Gràcia; an address further up the grid adds a little.

Transfers are quoted in either direction. Send the flight number, date, time and terminal, your street and building number, and the number of guests and bags.

Questions about a chauffeur in la Dreta de l'Eixample

Can a driver collect me from a hotel on Passeig de Gràcia?

Yes. Give the hotel name and its number on the avenue, or the nearest cross street, with the time and where you are going. Passeig de Gràcia is a wide avenue, so the side of the street matters, and the pickup point is agreed with the quote.

How long does the airport transfer take?

OpenStreetMap road routing to Plaça de Catalunya, checked on September 30, 2026, gives 17 km, about 20 min by road without traffic from Terminal 1, and about 14 km, also about 20 minutes, from Terminal 2. Addresses further up the grid add a little, and traffic changes the real time. See Barcelona Airport to Barcelona City Transfer.

Can I keep a driver for a day of meetings in the Eixample?

Yes. Business travel is planned around your schedule, and a chauffeur by the hour keeps a vehicle and driver for a set number of hours. List the addresses and appointment times, and the day is quoted as a whole.

Do any private tours stop on Passeig de Gràcia?

Yes. The Essence of Barcelona and Barcelona Highlights and Park Güell both list Passeig de Gràcia among their stops, with a private vehicle for your group and hotel pickup and drop-off. They are booked online.

I arrive by train at Passeig de Gràcia station. Can a car collect me there?

Send the train, its arrival time, the number of guests and bags and where you are going, and the transfer is quoted with a pickup point near the station. The station sits under Passeig de Gràcia at Carrer d'Aragó. For trains at the main station, see Barcelona Sants Station Transfer.
