Chauffeur Service for Palau Sant Jordi

Road access to Palau Sant Jordi changes with each event, and some notices require a reservation for private vehicles or keep private transport away altogether. Send the notice for your concert or show, and a driver plans the arrival and the trip home around it.

Arata Isozaki's arena on Montjuïc

Arata Isozaki designed Palau Sant Jordi for the Barcelona '92 Olympic Games, and the arena was handed over to the city on September 21, 1990. Two years later it held the Olympic artistic gymnastics, handball and volleyball events. It stands at Passeig Olímpic, 5-7, on Montjuïc in the Sants-Montjuïc district, and together with the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Esplanade it makes up the Olympic Ring. Barcelona de Serveis Municipals (BSM), a public company of the Ajuntament de Barcelona, took over the management of the Olympic Ring in 2003.

Music fills much of the calendar. According to BSM, almost half of the events held at Palau Sant Jordi and the Sant Jordi Club since the opening have been concerts, 35 percent fairs and corporate events, and 13 percent major sporting fixtures.

On the mountain, a car needs some planning. Access by road changes from one event to the next, and the venue publishes notices that can require a prior reservation for private vehicles or keep taxis and private transport services away altogether (see the questions below). A chauffeur covers the parts around the show: the airport, the hotel, dinner beforehand. Send the event, its access notice, your hotel and your times with the request, and the quote follows them.

Getting to Palau Sant Jordi

Arriving for a show? Aena lists two terminals at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, T1 and T2, so give yours with the flight number. If the hotel comes first, add its address, the concert date and whether you also want the journeys to and from Montjuïc that night.

After an event, the venue warns that many vehicles leave the area at the same time and traffic jams are likely.

Questions about getting to Palau Sant Jordi

Can a car take me up to Palau Sant Jordi on a concert night?

Not always. On days when the Sant Jordi Club and the Estadi Olímpic both hold events, the venue says Palau Sant Jordi cannot be reached by private vehicle without a prior reservation, and one of its event notices says taxis and private transport services may not enter the area. Look up the notice for your show and include it with the request.

Where is Palau Sant Jordi?

At Passeig Olímpic, 5-7, 08038 Barcelona, on Montjuïc in the Sants-Montjuïc district. It is part of the Olympic Ring with the Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Esplanade.

Is it close to Fira Barcelona Montjuïc?

Yes, the two are about 0.9 km apart in a straight line, so a day at the fair and an evening at the arena can go in one request. See Fira Barcelona Montjuïc.

What is leaving like after a show?

Busy. The venue warns that many vehicles leave the area at once and traffic jams are likely, and it mentions shuttle buses to Plaça d'Espanya after events. Agree where the return pickup should be when you book, using what the access notice allows.

Can you collect me at the airport for a concert weekend?

Yes. Tell us the flight and when it lands, how many of you are coming and with how many bags, your hotel and the concert date. Airport journeys are described on Barcelona Airport transfers.
