Sant Andreu district

From the Coll de Finestrelles to the Nus de la Trinitat

La Trinitat Vella owes its name to a chapel of the Trinity built here in 1413, when this was a remote corner of the independent municipality of Sant Andreu de Palomar known as the Coll de Finestrelles. The chapel burned during the Peninsular War. Today the barri covers about 81 hectares and has some 10,500 residents (2021), within limits formed by the Besòs River, the Avinguda Meridiana, the Carretera de Ribes and the Passeig de Santa Coloma.

Vines grew on the higher ground until the 1950s. Between 1952 and 1954 they gave way to apartment blocks, and a few years later new roads split the old Trinitat in two, Trinitat Nova and Trinitat Vella. The extension of the Meridiana opened in 1961. The last big change came in 1992 with the Nus de la Trinitat, the interchange where the Ronda de Dalt, the Ronda Litoral, the C-58 and the B-20 toward Montgat meet; inside its ring lies the Parc Nou de la Trinitat.

From this side of the Besòs, a chauffeur covers flights, ships and trains, as well as days out at Montserrat, in the Pyrenees or on the coast. Tell us your street in La Trinitat Vella, when you want to leave and who is traveling, and the reply prices that trip alone.
