Chauffeur Service in Barceloneta

La Barceloneta's blocks are long and narrow, a grid laid out in 1753, so a hotel name or street number marks the pickup best. From there a driver heads for the cruise quays across Port Vell, or out to the airport.

Ciutat Vella district

La Barceloneta, between the old port and the beach

La Barceloneta is the small triangle of the Ciutat Vella district that sticks out into the sea east of the old city. Two of its sides are water: the beaches of La Barceloneta and Sant Sebastià on one, the Moll d'Espanya of Port Vell on the other. The third side faces Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, the neighborhood most visitors know as El Born, and La Vila Olímpica del Poblenou continues along the shore.

The grid you see today was laid out from 1753 by the military engineer Juan Martín Cermeño, for families whose houses in La Ribera had been pulled down to build the Ciutadella fortress. That is why the blocks are long and narrow: 15 parallel streets crossed by 9 shorter ones. Sant Miquel del Port, consecrated in 1755, still faces Plaça de la Barceloneta, and the Palau de Mar on Plaça de Pau Vila now holds the Museu d'Història de Catalunya. About 14,300 people lived here in 2023.

From La Barceloneta, a driver is mostly about getting in and out: to the airport, to the cruise quays on the far side of Port Vell, to Barcelona Sants for a train, or along the coast for the day. Inside the grid, name the street and number or the hotel, since a block can be long, and say how many people and bags are traveling.

Questions about a chauffeur in la Barceloneta

How far is La Barceloneta from Barcelona Airport?

OpenStreetMap road routing, checked on September 30, 2026, gives 19 km, about 20 min by road without traffic from Terminal 1, mostly on the C-31 and the B-10. From Terminal 2 it is about 16 km and also about 20 minutes. Traffic and the exact street change the real time. The route has its own page, Barcelona Airport to Barceloneta Transfer, quoted in either direction.

My ship leaves from the cruise port. Can I go there from La Barceloneta by car?

Yes. The Port of Barcelona lists seven international passenger terminals on the Adossat quay and the Barcelona quay, on the other side of Port Vell from La Barceloneta. Send the ship name or terminal with the sailing date and time, and the number of guests and bags. Port journeys are described on Barcelona Cruise Port Transfer.

Can I be collected at Marina Port Vell?

The marina sits beside La Barceloneta, on the Port Vell side, and has its own page: Marina Port Vell. Name the berth or the marina building in your request, along with the time and where you are going, so the pickup point can be agreed in the quote.

Can I keep a driver for an afternoon between the beach and the old town?

A chauffeur by the hour keeps a vehicle and driver for a set number of hours, which suits several stops in one day: the Museu d'Història de Catalunya, the Gothic Quarter next door, a restaurant in the evening. List the stops and the times and you get a quote for the block of hours.
