La Font d'en Fargues lies south of Horta and north of the Turó de la Rovira, between the spring that gave it its name and the Torrent d'en Carabassa. Until 1897 it was part of Sant Andreu de Palomar; today it is a barri of Horta-Guinardó, bordered by Horta, El Carmel, Can Baró and El Guinardó, with Vilapicina i la Torre Llobeta, in Nou Barris, across Passeig de Maragall. About 9,500 people lived on its 0.66 square kilometers in 2021.
In the late 19th century the owners of Can Fargas, Montserrat de Casanovas and Pere Fargas i Sagristà, fitted out the spring with a grotto and a Modernista kiosk. Barcelona approved a plan to build on the land in 1912, following Passeig de la Font d'en Fargues, which was already open, and the plots filled with detached houses, from small ones to large villas with gardens near today's Passeig de Maragall, along with chalets put up by a journalists' cooperative. The parish church of Sant Antoni de Pàdua followed in 1927, after years of requests from residents.

Can Fargas
A farmhouse built up around an 11th-century defensive tower, which is protected as a cultural asset of national interest, at Passeig de Maragall, 383-389. After a long residents' campaign it passed to the city in 2009, and it now houses a music school.
