Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district

Les Tres Torres, three houses that named a neighborhood

In 1903 Climent Mas and the Romaní brothers had three houses built here, one for each brother, to plans by the architect Bonaventura Conill, and the area, until then called Gironella, took the name Les Tres Torres. English Wikipedia notes that one of the three still stands. The land lay between the old villages of Sarrià and Sant Gervasi, and a railway station, opened in 1906, set off its growth; in 1952 the line went underground, and Via Augusta now follows its course.

Les Tres Torres is part of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district. Its limits run along Via Augusta, Carrer de Ganduxer, Avinguda Diagonal, Avinguda de Sarrià and Passeig de Manuel Girona, among other streets, and in 2021 it had 16,356 residents on 78.8 hectares. Most of the early family houses with gardens have given way to apartment blocks, but Gaudí's Col·legi de les Teresianes still works as a school on Carrer de Ganduxer, and Puig i Cadafalch's Casa Muley Afid houses the Consulate of Mexico.

With the Diagonal on its southern edge, trips from Les Tres Torres include offices along the avenue as well as the airport, Barcelona Sants and consulate appointments. Give the address, the hour and how many of you are traveling, and the quote will match that request.
