Chauffeur Service in Vallcarca i els Penitents

In Vallcarca, a pickup on the viaduct of Avinguda de la República Argentina is not the same as one on Avinguda de Vallcarca below it. Say which level the car should use, and you are taken to the airport, Sants or out of the city.

Gràcia district

Vallcarca i els Penitents, a valley between the Putxet and the Coll

Vallcarca i els Penitents is the northwestern part of the Gràcia district. It meets Sarrià-Sant Gervasi on the west and Horta-Guinardó on the north, and inside Gràcia its neighbors are El Coll, La Salut and La Vila de Gràcia. Its 121 hectares had 16,325 residents in 2021. The name Vallcarca comes from Vall Càrcara, a boxed-in valley: the neighborhood follows the course of the old riera de Vallcarca, today Avinguda de Vallcarca, tucked between the hills of the Putxet and the Coll. Until 1904 it belonged to the municipality of Horta.

The Penitents part took shape around 1860 near Carrer de Ticià, where hermits living in caves were known as the penitents. The Viaducte de Vallcarca carries Avinguda de la República Argentina over Avinguda de Vallcarca; its first stone was laid in 1908, the design was changed to reinforced concrete in 1917, and it opened in 1923. On the same avenue, the Casa Comas d'Argemir, commissioned from Josep Vilaseca in 1904, has a corner tower topped with blue trencadís. On the site of the former military hospital, the Parc Sanitari Pere Virgili now groups health services and offices.

When you book from Vallcarca, the level matters as much as the street, because a pickup on the viaduct is not the same as one on the avenue below it. Say which avenue the car should use, add the date, time, guests and bags, and a trip to the airport, a train at Sants or a day out of the city is priced for you.

Questions about a chauffeur in Vallcarca i els Penitents

Near the viaduct, should I give the upper or the lower avenue?

Say which one. The Viaducte de Vallcarca carries Avinguda de la República Argentina over Avinguda de Vallcarca, so the same spot has two levels. Give the street name with the number, or a building such as the Casa Comas d'Argemir at Avinguda de la República Argentina, 92.

Can a driver take me to an appointment at the Parc Sanitari Pere Virgili?

Yes. The health campus lies between Avinguda de Vallcarca and the streets of Esteve Terrades, Josep Jover and Otília Castellví, and several services share it, the Hospital Sociosanitari Pere Virgili among them. Name the building or the service in your request, and a return after the appointment can be quoted at the same time.

Is Park Güell within reach from Vallcarca?

The park sits where three Gràcia neighborhoods meet, La Salut, El Coll and this one, according to its official site. Its listed entrances are on Carrer de Larrard, on Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya and on Carretera del Carmel; say which you want. Two of the private tours also include the park.

What goes in a request for an airport transfer from Vallcarca?

The pickup street and number, and which avenue if you are near the viaduct; the flight number and time; the terminal if you know it, T1 or T2 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat; and how many guests and bags.

Can I see prices for Vallcarca i els Penitents before I ask?

Prices and vehicles are not published on this site. Each request is priced as it comes: send the route, the date and time, and the number of guests and bags through Request a quote, and you get a price for that trip.
