From 1 March 1396 the parish depended on the Hieronymite monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Vall d'Hebron, and an old path, the Camí d'Horta a Sant Genís, linked it with Horta. Heavy urban growth came in the second half of the 20th century. On Passeig de la Vall d'Hebron, the Patronat Ribas, an orphanage designed by Enric Sagnier and opened in 1930, now holds the Institut Vall d'Hebron secondary school.

Patronat Ribas (Institut Vall d'Hebron)
Built between 1920 and 1930 to designs by Enric Sagnier i Villavecchia and opened on 1 May 1930 as an orphanage, funded by a bequest of the textile manufacturer Francesc Ribas. It ran as an orphanage until the 1970-1971 school year, took in secondary schools from 1976 and is now the Institut Vall d'Hebron, at Passeig de la Vall d'Hebron, 93-101 and Carrer de Natzaret, 2-20.

Carretera de l'Arrabassada (BP-1417)
Built between 1868 and 1877, the 11.4-kilometer road links Barcelona and Sant Cugat del Vallès over the coll de l'Erola (396 m), the pass that gave the Collserola range its name. It is one of the limits of Sant Genís dels Agudells.
