Of the six neighborhoods in the Eixample district, Sant Antoni is the one that runs up against the old town. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes closes it off from Plaça d'Espanya to Plaça de la Universitat, the Ronda de Sant Antoni and the Ronda de Sant Pau separate it from El Raval, and Avinguda del Paral·lel marks the line with El Poble-sec. It takes its name from Sant Antoni Abat, patron saint of domestic and pack animals, and had 38,993 residents in 2025.
The neighborhood grew around the Mercat de Sant Antoni, which Antoni Rovira i Trias designed on a whole block of the grid; it was built between 1879 and 1882 to a cross-shaped plan with a central dome. The market shut in October 2009 for an overhaul that added three underground levels, then reopened on 23 May 2018. Its Sunday market of second-hand books and collectibles has a following of its own, and Avinguda Mistral was turned into a pedestrian street in 1995.

Barcelona Airport and Sant Antoni
Aena's name for the airport is Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, and it has two terminals, T1 and T2. Sant Antoni has no airport route page of its own, so the transfer is set up through the main airport transfer page and quoted on request.

Mercat de Sant Antoni
A cast-iron market by Antoni Rovira i Trias, built between 1879 and 1882 on the block between Comte d'Urgell, Tamarit, Comte Borrell and Manso. After a renovation that began in 2009 it reopened on 23 May 2018 with three underground levels.
